New album
Our new album is on its way, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you!It tells the story of a particular star—both a symbolic and literal presence that weaves through the themes and narratives we explore. But the journey doesn’t end there. The album also delves into a distinctive musical structure, one that pushes boundaries and redefines traditional forms, crafted to offer something fresh and create a sound that is uniquely ours. Stay tuned—this is an album like no other, and we can't wait for you to experience it!
New album
We recently teased that a new album was on its way. Now, it’s time to share more details. This ambitious project consists of a single, 45-minute composition, divided into distinct movements. The song tells the story of the star Vega—not only from its own perspective, charting its journey from birth to death, but also from our viewpoint, as we observe its light in the sky, possibly long after its demise. It serves as a profound metaphor for time, life, and perception—how we each experience time differently, shaped by our own circumstances and perspectives. Musically, we’ve embraced this theme by weaving intricate polyrhythms throughout the piece. At times, up to four different time signatures coexist—two instruments might be playing in 4/4, the drums in 3, the synths and piano in 5/4, and the lead guitar introducing syncopated phrasing beyond that. Alex explains: "But I never wanted this to be a mere technical exercise, like ‘It’s prog, so it must be complex.’ The goal was to create something deeply musical, rich in melody, and immersive, allowing space for the vocals and crafting a true journey through 45 minutes of time travel. This album represents a bold new direction for us, and pushing those boundaries is what makes Nine Skies so exciting."More details coming soon; stay tuned!Anne
